There is a lot going on in our gardens right now! The greenhouse was finished in early spring and we used it for the frst time for starts.  Also, when I built the seed tray table I made it removable so we could plant heat-loving plants in the ground. I have planted tomatoes, eggplant and melos in there. We’ll see how they do.

Many of the garden plots are coming along nicely! We have had a cold, wet spring so it has been a challenge but it’s really looking like a garden now. We planted some lemon cucumbers along the north fence. The first Food Bank plot has been cultivated and planted (thanks Bob). The community plot has been planted with carrots, potatoes, corn, beans, jerusalem artichokes, kale, salad greens, onions, spinach and a variety of herbs. All we need now is a good dose of sunshine.

There is a new four-bin pallet compost section near the shed. We will try to keep that rotated and start making our own compost but meanwhile we are getting a big load of compost from Silver Springs on Tuesday.

We got a grant for a new mower. That will get here some time summer quarter.

Our beloved Dana is going on to her next adventure so Matthew and Ryan have been transitioning in.

I will start posting pictures soon, this was just a test to see if I could figure the web feature out. Please join our Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/ecogardens .
